Assembly Inverted & Transparent

Agree - I came to that conclusion also, but kept this open hoping to learn something. Its really just a collection of 10 or so un-corrupted subassemblies mated together, maybe 2 hours of work to recreate or 2 hours of improvements since the last good backup save under a different name. <END>

    Assembly Inverted & Transparent

I just tried an experiment or two - I opened a new assembly and brought in the troublesome assembly (the copy file which is now pared down to one part). Everything appears and behaves normally. Then I inserted a small assembly that has handedness, inserted at the top level. There is no RH-LH...

    Assembly Inverted & Transparent

Seems that I can only attach one file to a post, so here's another posting with another file showing the coloration of one of the faces of the black T handle.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=e265cc2f-9ed3-459f-b01c-627308e97eea&file=TJ6.JPG

    Assembly Inverted & Transparent

Hendersdc- It appears that none of the components display correctly, at least if going by what seems to be true that the lightest colored ones (of which there are few) can't be seen through because of their color (black is more transparent than white in this inverted world I'm in). I've now...

    Assembly Inverted & Transparent

Hi updraft. Thanks for jumping in. A shot of the feature manager tree is attached. It is of a saved under a new name and renamed model (which looks the same). I toggled transparent on and off and other than the icon showing that it was in this state or that state there was no change, no change...

    Assembly Inverted & Transparent

I'm working in SW2010 (yes, I know its 2017) on a PC configuration that's been quite stable for the last few years. I've been working on an assembly for the last month or so. Tonight that assembly crashed in some fashion. As it did so I checked other parts and assemblies I have open in SW and...

Housing Allowance For Temporary Engineering Assignment

25 is exactly the increase I applied. I used the logic that the official number is figured on short hotel stays and all restaurant food but over 6-8 months I would have been in an apartment doing much of my own cooking.

I baked. I submitted. They didn't like the number. The end. Thanks for the input guys.

Housing Allowance For Temporary Engineering Assignment

Hmm. Company confirmed that they won't pay a stand alone per diem, that it has to be baked into the hourly rate. Their reason being that prior to finding their way to me they had only been looking for and hiring engineers that were local to the project.

Housing Allowance For Temporary Engineering Assignment

Thanks for the input guys. Very quick and informative, more than I was hoping for already. Don't feel pressured to dig more but if anyone has thoughts keep them coming. Thanks. Mark

Housing Allowance For Temporary Engineering Assignment

Since my last post I think we've been traveling in parallel. Here is what I wrote before I saw the post above: __________ Well, per diem is the right search term it seems: http://www.gsa.gov/portal/content/142071 GSA establishes the per diem rates for the lower 48 Continental United States...

Housing Allowance For Temporary Engineering Assignment

As for a per diem, that's kind of foreign to me. I've had a per-diem only once when working for Ford as an employee and stationed at an assembly plant, but that was set by them and set in stone. I imagine there is a table somewhere that has standard rates or per diems for major cities and the...

Housing Allowance For Temporary Engineering Assignment

I am a mechanical engineer with a P.E. and decades of experience in varied automotive and machine design positions. For the last 7 years I've gone out on my own in private practice doing engineering, CAD, fabrication, prototyping (I have access to an awesome shop). For the last few months...

    New Subscription Policy

I just stumbled upon the license renewal situation yesterday and I'm still reading up on it. I am running SW2010 Professional. Since getting it I don't see where the new versions have been much of an improvement. It looks to me as if they are busy changing it continuously but change isn't...

    Unscrewing Mold - Bottle Cap

Yos, that's what I'm hoping to find here. Mark

    Unscrewing Mold - Bottle Cap

I have a need to make a 24/410 polypropylene bottle caps with a unique external shape. Money is short and time is more plentiful. I know that bottle caps are most often made in 30+ cavity molds running short cycle times. I'd be happy to get one cycle per minute or two from four cavities with a...

    Machine Controller

MintJulep - Thank you. "programmable cam switch" gets me a lot of good hits to pick through. I appreciate the help. Case closed. Thanks, Mark

    Bicycle Engineering

Ted, thank you for that. Now I see that those standards do have what I'm looking for. Do you know if the saddle requirements are the same between trekking bikes, racing bikes, and MTB? I tried to follow through the links and get to the other specs, but couldn't. I assume you have a...

    tail light lens material

Look at a few existing tail lights. SAE spec is on the exterior. Recycling code may / may not be on the exterior, but is easy to find and will quickly lead you to the general material category. In your case though, your material may be more likely to be dictated by your manufacturing method. Mark
