Hello fine engineers.
Sadly I'm not an engineer but I'm tasked with and engineering evaluation in line with SAE J1050 Describing and Measuring the Drivers Field of View, specifically the driver binocular obstruction due to A-pillars. Is there anyone out there with an excess of insight willing...
It seems nonlinear static analysis is not available under the Basic Design Simulation. Cab you take a look at the image and confirm that his is in fact the case.
I looked at all the contact definitions and none seem to close the gap with considerable penetration or keeping the gap unaffected.
Could this be limited by the fact that this is being done under the Basic Design Simulation not the Advanced???
Under Mesh Mating Condition I have the following three options:
Glue-Coincident
Glue Non-Coincident
Free Coincident
Under The Simulation Object Type two options:
Surface-to-Surface Contact
Surface-to-Surface Gluing
Do you mean Glue Non-Coincident?
OK thanks for helping me understand the real deformation, So in this case there is a definite penetration (see attached animation),
I'm not sure where I went wrong on the contact definition.
Face Gluing is applied between the bottom of the blue plate and the top of the small yellow cylinder...
Hello,
In my quest to learn NX10 Design Simulation, I have run into the following situation.
I'm not sure how to set the Deformation representation to show the true Displacement result. Is Scale of 1.00 for % Model the proper setting?
Also based on the attached, its a simple load case where...
Hello.
After applying a force and enforcing DOF in the direction of plunger travel and applying a pin constrain to the roller I finally got a satisfactory solution. All your suggestions indirectly help me understand how to constrain this simulation. Thank you for all your efforts. [thumbsup2]...
Attached image illustrates the latest setup with your suggestion, however after the solution is run for 2 minutes no results are generated.

Here is one of the results, again I would like to know how come there is no effect on the bracket

Two of the pics were missed in my last post, here they are agin

Sounds good, three pics have been uploaded.https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=6285fafa-f8fb-4d61-8160-bd8e9c501320&file=boundry_conditions.JPG
Hello Tomas,
Thanks for your response.
Under my initial post there is a link to the full resolution images.
I have attempted numerous mesh connections with the same result.
The link below contains all the original NX simulation files, feel free to take a look at it.

Thanks

Hello,
Can somebody take a look at it and let me know what am I missing here? See attached.
I'm just getting into the Basic NX10 Design Simulation and I have set up a simple load case where a plunger slides into the rotating pin attached to a fixed bracket. The goal was to see what forces get...
See attached movie Link that shows you how to accomplish this under nx10. I showed three methods that accomplish the same task. As far as I can see there is no advantage to "create multiple drawings with one sheet each".
