Retaining Wall support with Rocscience SLIDE

Has anyone here used Slide to add a retaining wall to a slope? I'm talking small--on the order of 3foot keystone with geofabric.... Thanks in advance! jjgeo

    Retaining Wall Question

Yep-I figured. How would you suggest figuring out how high the wall has to be then? A geometric calculation of the mass of the slope beyond a slip plane? It seems difficult how to predict how the soil will pile up at the bottom..... I am just curious--I am not actually designing this wall----...

    Retaining Wall Question

Does anyone out there know if you can use Slide to predict an adequate height for a retaining wall for a soil slope--The slope is only 5 foot and is highly weathered schist--not really soil, but very unconsolidated. The wall may be overkill. Thanks.

    HI-Help with Rocscience Slide

Thank you Gimbli! I also like Slide very much. I'm not sure which is the appropriate way to add the water--since I am not sure where it is coming from and what the residence time is. I figure since it is not truely a water table, maybe Ru is more appropriate--but here, I'm not sure what...

    HI-Help with Rocscience Slide

I am just learning slide--I have a slope with some water input below surface that is resulting in a combo slump and earth flow. Anyone have any pointers on how to enter the water aspect correctly into Rocscience's Slide program? Thanks in advance! J J Geotech
