IF YOU REFER EIL STANDARDS (INDIAN REFINERY CONSULTANTS) FOR STANDARD FLANGE FACES YOU NEED NOT TAKE CORROSION ALLOWANCE. BUT WHEN YOU DESIGN A GIRTH FLANGE YOU NEED TO TAKE CORROSION ALLOWANCE IN BOTH DIAMETER AND FLANGE FACES.

is it,
1) 3 times the allowable stress value as per Div 1
or
2) 3 times the stress intensity value as per Div 2

As per Sec.VIII Div I only nozzles above 2" (2" not included) should be reinforced. As a good practice 2" (inclusive) and below sized nozzles are stiffened at 90° apart.
