    That also doesn't quite do what I want. This is an illustration of what I have: http://img170.imageshack.us/my.php?image=followerillustrationfe9.jpg As I rotate the cam, I want the follower to stay inside of the groove and slide back and forth.

    I can get it to work fine with plate cams, it's barrel cams that I'm at a loss with.

    Has anyone found a way to mate a barrel cam to a cam follower mounted on a linear slide in an assembly so as you rotate the cam, the follower moves linearly?
