Hello Franklin,
I don't know if you've found your answer yet or not, but there is a way to get it back. On a side note, every once in a while they make sweeping changes that leave some of us baffled. This is one of them. Another example is how I'm still fixing legacy engage/retract moves from...
This may not be exactly what you're wanting, but I got so tired of hitting F1 by accident and popping-up the online help.

I've been using it for years now. I've also changed my tilde key to delete to I can keep my hand on my mouse. Oh, and I...
Another item related to tolerances is in fixed contour/surface area. The default for cut step when you edit the drive method is Number: first cut 10 & last cut 10. I've attached a very simple file that shows how this default can scrap parts. The bad part is that it's hidden by default under the...
I would use spline>through points>ok>point constructor> type in the values. Somewhere around point 13 doesn't look right though. The table is a little blurry which may be my problem.https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=dccb44ce-8678-444f-a7a9-8de8b27df053&file=model1.igs
I should've attached an iges file instead. Hopefully this will help. It's all freehand using tubes, curves and patterns.

I think this is close to what Cowski is describing. I used free-hand curves and guessed on sizes based off the picture.https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=8d061e4b-162f-4e8b-b4f5-c4140d4b2baf&file=model1.prt
I'm glad to hear that they've finally made it possible to get rid of that horribly non-productive "feature". Unfortunately, I'm still on 10 for now. What I do besides flick it to the corner of my screen and cuss is to pick from right to left which leaves it chasing after me instead of me running...
I did something close to John's, but more usable. I actually copied my classic toolbars from an earlier version of NX and added them to one ribbon. I still have assemblies on it's own because it took up too much space.

I believe he's talking about the selection intent pop-up that follows your cursor (single curve, connected curves, etc.). I agree that it is very annoying, and to my knowledge can't be shut off. The trick I've found to avoid hitting it by mistake constantly is to pick from right to left. This...
In retrospect I think I know the preference setting you mentioned.
The one I'm referring to is the one that places single curve, chain curves, etc. that now shows up at the tip of my curser when picking curves for a boundary in mfg or extrude in modeling.
Is this the same?

I'll try your suggestion in the morning.
Once again, thanks for the fast reply!

Is there a way to disable the curser pop-up for selection intent in NX7.5?
It is constantly in my way, and I have gotten used to flicking my mouse between clicks to throw it off into blank space.

Thanks for the quick reply!
I'll forward the powerpoint tomorrow and hope for the best.

Although I've had a ton of excellent interactions with GTAC over the years, I can still understand the original poster's frustration.
Currently, I have an issue that has been deemed "working as intended" that I put together a powerpoint presentation showing the cost a default setting in CAM...
What I do is type zero in the total box and hit enter. Then I pick the curve I want and it will display it's full length.

I'm using both NX-5.0.2.2 MP2 and NX4-4.0.4.2 MP4 which are the latest version of each release. The PB I'm using now is 5.2 I think. It's the one that comes with NX5. I'm not sure what you mean by the method I'm using though. I bring in the machine through the tool order view. It's the only way...
When setting rtrcto Auto/None in a drilling operation I get the same results running machine simulations. Both act as G99 and look to the minimum clearance in the operation which is .100 by default.
My post puts out the G98 which looks to the clearance plane and allows for clearing of clamps...
I agree with all that Jelmerra said. UG comes with post builders, and they offer training to help you write your own or supply them to you for a fee.
Even using the DOS based .mdfa editor it's not hard to get a decent post with a few hours to play with it. I'd give a call to GTAC and they...
