Sooooo many things.
1. The addition of the width mate. This alone has saved me so much time it's unbelievable.
2. The ability to rotate views within a drawing.
3. Sheet metal bend notes.
4. Linked split pane views
I can't think of any more right now, but I would have a hard time going back...
It finally converted over and opened, but it's a pretty good size assembly. I've never opened a 3d DXF before so I was surprised that it broke it into 54 parts.
It's around 28m total size in a zip file now. If you want it, I'll try to send it to you, but I don't have any webspace to upload...
I have a link with a curved slot in it that a rod slips through. The link should be able to slide and rotate at the same time along the length of the slot but I can't seem to mate it in a way that allows this to happen.
I tried searching this forum, but really didn't know what to look for...
I rarely use welments, but when I do it makes more sense to use technique 1 using the weldment for the basic framework. External attachments to that framework are made as just that, external attachments.
You should be able to use solidworks explorer to make multiple copies quickly and then go back to solidworks and insert them into your assembly. Is there some reason this won't work for you?
Good news for me and the others. I couldn't find any documentation in the What's New manual about it, but it looks like 2006 fixes this issue.
Check the screenshot below I took from a Solidworks BOM. There is an option after you check "indented assemblies" labeled "show numbering". I don't...
Just a quick little update. There are never any mate errors, just overdefine warnings. And usually if I just keep working and adding more mates, they dissappear completely. Or I can go and suppress a couple and then unsuppress and all the warnings are cleared.
I know I've seen this in 04...
If this doesn't get any better, I'll be uninstalling and going back to 05 at the end of the day. I'm spending half of each day re-attaching mates. It seems like every time I get things right, save a model and reopen, the mates are all messed up.
Is anybody else having this much trouble?
