Swertel, I think I understand the confusion now. We have many different subassemblies that we use on our drawings ranging from standard valves to mounting subassemblies. They are no put together in the over assembly. So when I ask it to indent the BOM I get the parts of those subassemblies...
"I would create an Alternate Position Assembly" implies it is an Assembly, therefore it will indent on my BOM. If there is away of doing "I would create an Alternate Position Assembly" this within a Part file please educate me.

"I'd really rethink your requirement to only expand/indent selective assemblies"
We have subassemblies for our valves for example so we can show them in a closed or open status. These kind of things are what I can't have "Indent". Is no one else having this issue?

I'm REALLY needing to be able to use the "Exploded List (all parts and subassemblies)" to put indented BOMs on my drawings, but I need it to be selective. Currently I'm using ST3 and I have many subassemblies on my top level, but only want to Indent select ones.
Does anyone know how I have make...
I need some help creating an Adjustable assembly. The help instructions in ST3 are not clear to me and I'm hoping someone out there can clarify it for me. I have a subassembly that has 2 brackets on a post that I need to slide up and down the post as required for the top level assemblies it is...
This has been an issue in previous versions also, and I usually have at least 3 other programs open. E-mail, manufacturing system, and a music program. (itunes or Media Player)

Fun4sparkie,
We are currently using a 3dconnexion "Space Pilot". So my next question is where can I go to see what driver works best with SE v20?

Beachcomber,
The assemblies we do probably average out to about 600-700 parts per assembly. We do go as high as 1400-1600 parts per assembly and as low as 70-200 parts per assembly. As for hiding some of the assembly; it helps but it still runs extremely slow. I must point out that in our...
Surely this can't be right though. I'm running on XP PRO (32-bit) SP3 and according to the list there is only one card that they have tested? Surely not....

Gemnoc,
Our performance issues are extremely slow part assembly (bringing a part into an assembly and locating it). Our large assemblies do not turn around they chop around, and other funny things that seem to point to graphics issues. Currently we are using FX1500 cards with the latest drivers...
Yea, I've looked at their website. They only list requirements, but not a specific graphics card. Before Siemens bought them they used to have a list of cards and how well they performed, but no longer.

I'm working on a Solid Edge v20 and having performance issues with it. We have all of our drawings on our server, we work off of our server and our SE license is a server license. We are trying to correct our performance issues, so we are looking at our graphics cards. I'm looking for a list of...
I can't seem to figure out what is causing this. If I go into xpressroute or frame design all of my parts turn to clear black w/ a wire frame. I'm not sure what this means. But I can't select anything. My goal is to be able to draw the sketch lines for tubing. So any solutions would be greatly...
Does anyone know of a website that would give me all of the properties for various materials to add to the Material Table.
I have several new materials to add, but I can't find all of the information to fill in the blanks.
Thanks

Working in SE20 and I have a problem. I have parts in a top level assembly, but I need them to be in one of the subassemblies. Is there a way to move them from one to the other without having to erase them from one and redo in the other?
Thanks

Anyone know if there is an option somewhere that turns off the Move command in an Assembly? In the assembly that I have it is gray and if I use assembly mode I am unable to move it as well. This is only happening in this one drawing, all of the rest I have checked it works great. The only thing...
Pat,
Thanks for the post, but adding additional nuts and bolts to the fastener system is what I'm after. We use standard nuts and bolts here ei. 1/2-13, 1/4-20, things of that nature, but we use them in different materials. Some are 316 ss, 304 ss, carbon plated and some more exotic metals. I...
