I am putting together a procedure for cleaning and testing (hydro and pneumatic testing) a newly installed natural gas compressor station, but I'm having trouble finding good resources to help. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Good Morning Forum,
Would any experts out there be able to explain to me if gas gathering lines (moving gas from wells to the gas processing plant) are included in the scope of B31.3 (maybe as "compressor interstage piping")?
Or would these be covered under B31.8 (gas gathering pipelines)...
We're trying to replicate the work done in an older version of HydroCAD using version 9.00. We are getting message 49 "Hint: Tc<2dt may require smaller dt" for one of our subcatchments. The Tc is 5.8 minutes.
Our dt was set at 0.50, which we reduced to 0.10, but the message remains.
What do...
I just downloaded Turn117.lsp and ran the lisp a few times with my WB67 block. However, each time I run the lisp, the program only draws the path of the midpoint of the rear axle.
I watched the YouTube video on how to run the program and saw that the lisp is supposed to generate a whole lot...
I found guidance addressing the error message I received in CHECK-RAS on the FEMA website: http://www.fema.gov/plan/prevent/fhm/frm_crgd.shtm. However, I am still unable to make it work. Maybe this website will be helpful to others.
I am trying to use CHECKRAS v1.4 for the first time, but I am having trouble extracting the data from my HEC-RAS report. I am following FEMA's CHECKRAS tutorial and I've deleted and regenerated the HEC-RAS report a few times over. I keep getting an error message when I click the "Extract"...
I do have the full HydroCAD program. The issue is with the file types HydroCAD has in its "file type" drop-down menus for exporting and importing. To export, I can choose metafiles, text files, and others, but to import I can only use the .hce file type. So I guess my question is, how can I...
Can anyone explain to me how I can best export a hydrograph from one HydroCAD file and import it into another HydroCAD file? I want to import a hydrograph as a link node, which requires me to have a .hce file, but I don't have that option on the export end. I would rather not have to manually...
I agree that HEC-RAS is overkill for this particular situation - the "swale" is very nearly dry most of the time and we have already provided a Manning's analysis. However, the state agency reviwer is requiring a HEC-RAS study. We're working with said reviewer to find a way to meet his needs...
I was wondering if someone could clear something up for us here regarding the use of catch basins in HydroCAD... Are there any benefits to modeling catch basins as separate nodes from an upstream detention pond?
I ran a test on a simple stormwater system and found that my flows and WSEs are...
Hello All,
I am attempting to model the floodway of a ditch in HEC-RAS, but am having trouble with varying output. When I model the system using subcritical or mixed flow regime, the resulting WSEs are much higher than when I use the supercritical flow regime. Can anyone please define...
I have several detention basins with forebays on site that will be utilized as sediment basins during construction. I want to use baffles (essentially rows of silt fence to elongate the flow path) in place of the forebay berms for erosion control. Does anyone know if there is some sort of...
Is there any way to change the font size on cross-sectional diagrams? I have a reach node that shows a cross section in the report, but the labels are so large, they are overlapping each other. If it is not possible to reduce the font size, is there a way to get rid of the labels?
My apologies for the confusion.
The infiltration bed is below the driveway (about a foot underground). The inlets serve as openings so water that is above the ground can get into the infiltration bed faster than it would if it were to just seep through the driveway.
One of the main...
I'm designing an infiltration area below a large, looped driveway area so that the post-developed 10-year flow will equal the pre-developed 2-year flow.
I am placing two inlets in the driveway area so stormwater can flow into the infiltration bed more quickly, rather than just seeping through...
I imported a .wmf file as my diagram background and now want to print the routing diagram WITH the picture in the background. Each time I try to print the diagram, I only get the nodes (no background). How can I print both from HydroCAD. Is this even possible?
I am using HydroCAD to model a catch basin with two inlets and two outlets and am having trouble figuring out how to go about it. The two inlets are a rectangular orifice to control the flow of the 10-year storm and a top grate to allow the 25-,50-, and 100-year storms to enter the catch basin...
