I really appreciate your reply. I have kind of got sidetracked on this topic and have been focused elsewhere. I now have work unrelated to EMD Engines (and I miss EMD's).

Thank you for the reply. You are correct about the lube oil pumps as they are gear type and direction does not matter. The water pumps on the other hand are dependent on the impeller and volute to direct flow.
I am familiar with the difference in the rotation but if my memory serves correctly...
