    F3 doesn't help

It did help! I fiddled with the controls and finally clicking the "fill all in" icon pulled back the tree. Thanks!

    F3 doesn't help

thread560-72346 The specification tree disappeared from the desktop and F3 doesn't make it reappear. F3 makes scroll bars (left and bottom) visible/invisible but that's about it. How do I fix this? CATIA V5R19, WinXP x64, Quadro FX3700 (driver 259.57) Thanks.

    Coordinate planes partially visible

On my office machine the xy,yz and xz coordinate planes are always visible even when they are inside a part. Similarly, points, etc. are visible and selectable. On my laptop, they are hidden when they are inside a part. How do I make them visible and selectable? Thanks.

    constraining sub-assemblies in an assembly

Thanks Mark! The update option was set to "All levels". Making the sub-assemblies flexible made the difference. I'm on the right track now but still have issues to sort out. Laszlo

    constraining sub-assemblies in an assembly

Thanks Myriam. Making the sub-assemblies flexible is something I'll look into. Naively I thought a higher order assembly would know by default about constraints set in a sub-assembly and update would act on those constraints. Laszlo

    constraining sub-assemblies in an assembly

Greetings, I created a sub-assembly with constraints among the parts. When I build an assembly using a set of these sub-assemblies and set constraints among the sub-assemblies, the update command doesn't seem to have any effect on the parts in the sub-assemblies. I wonder why? For example: The...

    licensing through VPN tunnel

Mine doesn't tell me the SP Level. I looked, but it only shows the version and build date. Maybe it is not shown because I've never downloaded a service pack. Where do you download the service packs from?

    licensing through VPN tunnel

I found it. DEMO mode has to be unchecked in Option/Licensing. Great, it works!!! Thanks again for your help. Laszlo

    licensing through VPN tunnel

Now, of course, the question is why is it in DEMO mode? Is it possible that my DSL line is fleaky and since CATIA checks the license periodically, at some point it didn't get permission from the server? Laszlo

    licensing through VPN tunnel

I just realized, that CATIA is running in DEMO mode on my home machine. This is probably the reason why I can't open files. Laszlo

    licensing through VPN tunnel

Thanks, Derek. We're running V5R15. I don't know the SP level. How can I find it out? There're other things which aren't right. I started CATIA at home and apart from the issue mantioned above, it seems normal. However, when I look at CATIA, running concurrently in my office, via remote...

    licensing through VPN tunnel

Thanks. I could start CATAI remotely today morning. However, when I want to open a CATPart or Product file, which is on the local disk, I get "Wrong application level", "Invalid data structure" errors. These files have been created with the same version of CATIA. Apparently, I can create...

    licensing through VPN tunnel

Hi all, Does anyone know whether it is possible to get a network license granted through a VPN tunnel? Thanks.

    installing V5R15/MULTICAx

Wow, that's lovely. I haven't seen signs of it yet.

    installing V5R15/MULTICAx

Thanks solid7. V5R15 seems to be faster than R14 or maybe it's me getting older.

    installing V5R15/MULTICAx

I installed V5R15 P2 and it seems to work fine. I just installed it from the CDs called CATIA P2 Solutions. However, there's another set of CDs, called CATIA/ENOVIA MULTICAx Products. I put the Windows version in the CD drive and it apparently started installing V5R15. Should I have started the...

    window

Thanks for the pointer. I may end up using one of Edmund's window. They don't seem to have 2.5mm thick window though. The problem is that I use a Mitutoyo G-Plan objective which is corrected to 5 mm BK7 glass between the objective and the object. The object in my case is a CCD detector which...

    Firewall

What I meant by "LUM is not supporting firewalls" was that if a license server is behind a firewall, the request from an external computer (home) for a license can't reach it because of the firewall. This seems to be incorrect because it works for you so I'll try it again. Thanks.
