How do you get points to show up on the drawing when they are in the drawing file, not the linked part.
If I move them to the part, they show up. Unfortunately, the part is locked in our PLM.
Any ideas?
This may have been asked before, the quick search was unable to locate any information.
Since NX9, I have not been able to use curves or points in the views of a drawing, if they reside in the drawing file.
Only if they are in the model file using reference sets. Used to be able to do this...
Hello,
Is there a way to create a symbol of the company logo, it has the name and a symbol, so I can put it in a table for the titleblock?
Same would go for the 3rd angle projection text and symbol.
Any ideas?
Thank you.
With Nissan's new method of 3d annotation being separated in different files, how are you handling this data with your own internal PLM?
We use SAP. I am not sure what the best method is for storing incoming data. Should we import all the extra parts into one common component file, or check...
Cowski, I create the CGMS or save off the drawings from GM Teamcenter. We still print off drawings for our suppliers or plants. They use them to create the tools somehow.
OK, I will adjust some of the output options.
Another thing I am trying now is creating custom symbols of the drawing. But I might run into when other people view our drawing, the symbols might not show up since they are saved locally on my machine.
Any other thoughts would be great.
Thank you.

We get drawings from GM. They are 11x17s. Our general practice is to just create CGMs and put them inside of our company drawing format. What we run into is one of those 11x17s can become 6000+ entities. I'd like to find a way to reduce the size and keep the integrity of the drawings...
I am curious about this also. Outside of the GM Toolkit, is it possible to apply body lines on the drawing? John's instructions are good, but it only applies to the actual drawing and not the parts.
Grid lines on the drawing help when parts are designed in vehicle position.
Anyone run into this. When you undock your Assembly/Part navigator windows, and they are not the active windows they become transparent. I figure this is a Win 7 'feature'.
But anyone know how to disable this? I went into personalize, un-checked the transparent box and nothing.
Thank you.
