Good suggestions and comments so far. Here is another. Solvay has a PPA (Polyphthalamide) semi-crystalline resin called Amodel that is injection moldable. With respect to the moisture absorption issue, I agree with many of the other posts that it is probably not as significant as you think...
How portable are you talking about? Arizona Instruments (Tempe, AZ) has a small tabletop unit that is excellent. I have used them for years.

A lot of good responses and suggestions here. I will weigh in with some comments. First, from a materials perspective, the choice of an amorphous (ABS) vs crystalline (Nylon) material is going to have an impact on joining. Heat driven processes (sonic, hot plate, hot air) and solvent bonding...
This sounds to me like a basic light pipe design issue. The smoother (high polished) the surface, the more light will transmit through the light pipe. Difussion will alter the light path and thereby reduce the amount of light emitted.

What kind of questions do you have? TPU's for blowmolding are frequently used for bellows and boots in the automotive industry. In medical applications, they can be used for passive suction bulbs. What durometer and wall sections are you looking at?
