    IS THERE ANY NORTH AMERICAN STANDARD THAT SPECIFY HOW MANY POINTS ARE REQUIRED TO MEASURE A FEATURE USING CMM MACHINE. I HEARD THE BRITIS STANDARD BS7172 SPECIFIES THIS REQUIREMENT FOR EXAMPLE 9 POINTS FOR A SURFACE 15 POINTS FOR A CYLINDER.

    Hi Dave, I agree with you regarding the callout. I just can't find the item in ASME that backs it up. I am dealing with a tough checker and definition of runout is not clear on this issue. Thank you, Kaveh
