Family table instance always need verified in ilink?

Build M01 sure seemed to work well... but it ALSO has that instance issue... in fact... once I did the upgrade to it.. Instances that beloged to generics that had been renamed no longer saw the generic!!! The Horror as generics were verified and could not be saved due to the "same name...

    Intralink... Sorting the columns... Quickly!

Well... every one should know by now how to sort your columns in Pro/Intralink... by using the Table Disply... and you can left click on a column to sort by that column... Well... Here's a sweet little tip I thought everyone knew... Hold down your shift button and you can sort combined...

True... I guess the point is... once installed... Start up Wildfire and it will imediatly ask you to log into Intralink... thereby starting them both at the same time...

    Intralink and Wildfire

Ummm... I'm not sure I understand... It works JUST like it used to with 3.0 - 3.2 and Pro/E 2001... with the added availabity to see Intralink from what was the "Model Tree"... Install Intralink first... (suprisingly important most times)... Install Pro/Wildfire... Pointed to...

    DSMU Tip... (proimgr)

Here's an odd one... but it happens... If you can not run the DSMU correctly while connected... well... you have to change a taskmanager setting before logging in!... Start the DSMU (aka proimgr.bat)... (start it and leave it running)... Go to the Taskmanager... Find the Task listed as...

    variable lengths

Oh man... do you need to switch up to Wildfire... There is a new function in there that allows for multiple lengths of a part... Springs are good examples... but I could see it's use for other things, like cylinders... Wildfire allows you to set a dimension to different lengths of a single part...

    File name/description in Windows Explorer

In my defense... I never claimed it was the Best or the Only... But if you already own it... save some money... course... I've yet to experience better... the next best file management I've ever seen is called TIMS3... It was sweet... but was not created to manage the relationships that are...

    File name/description in Windows Explorer

Well... You COULD go through the effort of changing the properties in Explorer... and add a summery to the file... but this is tedious and needs to be done manually every time... Ever consider INTRALINK???... Then not only do you have you Parameters shown (as many as you'd like)... but you can...

    Ghost Objects And Intralink Woe

Try out the Global Reference Viewer if you have it... It can show you the hidden external references you might not have relized you had... Most gost objects get created because before intralink you could refence an an object, then delete or remove it and not have you model fail... since it is...

    INTRALINK???

    INTRALINK???

Well... Pro/INTRALINK can manage other files easily... and there are two ways to get the files into Intralink... Import them there... or create them right from Intralink... First... you have to register the file extension into Intralink... hmm... Here... Using Microsoft Word for example... In...

    Pro/E - Intralink & Multi-level, (nested) Family Tables

Try using "instance_search_exhaustive" set to "yes" in your config.pro... I believe this will let you see the instances for the generics... you could then pick the exact instance you wanted to assemble... NOTE that the instance does still have to be in your workspace!!!

    Intralink: Modifying generic instance attributes

Up to, and includeing, Intralink 3.2... you have to open the generic into Pro/Engineer to change ANY parameters (attributes)... then you MUST verify all the instances before saving, for the changes to reflect inside of Intralink... Once you have done this... the parameters will be used inside of...
