Please does anyone have a table, chart or refernce to a structured means of assessing the useful life of an existing surface dressing.

Ron, thanks for the quick response. But what is the scnenario for same road but with light traffic (50% trucks, 50% cars).

The double layer surface dressing is on a 150mm laterite subbase stabilised with 5% cement and its used for a medium traffic road (75% of traffic is by 30ton trucks).

Thanks Mike, I really could not lay my hands on the design data or as-built drawings and want to know if there are simple load tests which are of course non-destructive that can help to assess the load carrying capacity. The load that we want to move accross the bridge is 80 Ton

Can anyone help with some kinds of protective coating required for steel piles. The piles (open steel pipes API 5L X-52) 25m depth with 2m above ground are for a platform in a swampy terrain. Is the coating required for the entire pile length or just the 2m section above the ground. Thanks.
