    Shot in the dark here but we use a lot of inflatable seals in the vacuum industry. Could even pull a vacuum behind the seal when you want it to open up. Not sure on your size requirements but this works quite well. Good Luck

    Fastest way to remove revits

    I'd go with Kapitan's suggestion, they make a curved torch tip specifically designed for this application, check you local welding supply. If you do go with the electric drill, you could use an end mill to remove the head. I think you might end up using a combination of methods. Scooter

    Try using a paint stripping compound to remove the lead paint from the steel to cut. Any high heat source will vaporize the lead. If you have a large amount try an abaitment company. Low heat methods will still generate the lead waste that must be dealt with.

    Check with a couple of the companies that make metal seated relief valves. Surface finish will be important but also depends on the geometry of the seat design. They can be a hastle to repair as seats must be in good shape, line up as designed, and completely parallel as pointed out before.
