Parking lot grading and drainage (max slope and inlet spacing)

Site: 1.8ac Proposed parking lot on hill at about 4%-5% for a run of about 200 feet. Asphalt parking with parking bays running with the slope. I can break the site into two drainage areas (1 ac and 0.5ac or thereabout) and collect at the bottom. Location is GA so rain for 10yr is around...say...

    Storm pump station design

The outfall is 5' from the 8' deep wetwell and the volume in the pond (10yr event) is 73,000 ft^3. The discharge line from the pump to the wetlands is 6". We arrived at this by the inflow hydrograph area above a max pump rate that is below the 10 yr storm. Two 5hp pumps in parrallel at...

    Storm pump station design

Berko - Do you work for Hidrostal Pump? I noticed that your other posts to this site have all been praising towards Hidrostal. What do you mean by blocking? Why would this happen?

    Ductile Iron Pipe Supports

Currently we have pipe above bottom of ditch by 1'. It can be raised, but not lowered. It is a 8' deep channel/creek (more appropriate name then ditch). We need to check whether there is any normal base flow in channel, I imagine that has some bearing on this.

    Civil Engineering Disciplines

Your BS in Civil should go into the differences. Civil Engineering is made up of several areas that some people specialize in(like traffic, geotechnical, environmental, etc). It is a good place to start your engineering studies and from there you can go business (MBA as mentioned by gtrainor)...

    Software; TR-20/TR-55

I have used several, Pondpack by Haesteds, SedCAD, ICPR (Interconnected Pond Routing) and would have to say ICPR did the best for me. Their Tech support was more accessible, and cheeper from my memory, than Haseteds. Heasteads is very proud of their softeware and service contract and it is...

    Vertical curves minimum alg. diff.

Good question. I am in the lowcountry and typically have .5% grades. In ITE's Guidelines for Urban Major Street Design (Chapter 6 Grades, pages 23-26) discusses minimum slope or max K (rate of vertical curvature) for crest is 143 and the same for sag locations. And in all cases the minimum...

    Gravity wastewater flow meter

I am looking for a gravity line flow meter. The project is a porta-potty company and wants to dump his trucks on-site, but the local municipality has no way of billing him. Does anyone know of a metering device that can be used for billing purposes...remember that it is raw waste with a bunch...

    Residential Street Sign

My client wants to use "non-standard" regulatory and guide signage in a SFR. I know to follow the MUTCD, but I can't find an answer to...can a street name sign mount on a stop sign, or be placed over the stop sign? Also, has anyone used a "different" sign in a SFR so that...
