thanks electripete
that was really helpful
Also when you say strands, are strands like magnet wire ( copper wire with insulation on it)
so 1 turn( winding turn) is actually multiple strands made into a turn or do individual strands count as turns
is there pictures available anywhere which...
i recently came across a new type of technology for motor manufacturing called raser
they claim to have far better performance than conventional ac motors. any one has any idea how this thing is supposed to work?
how can a wound rotor induction motor generate more power than a PM motor
what role do the bearings play in generating noise
if ou are experiencing noise issues with a motor
say a BLDC motor, how can u pin point if the noise is coming from the bearing, rotor or the windings
thanks
guys
i just ran the motor at regular 60hz without any problems
i used standard 115 v and had a 6 amp fuse on it
the motor was rated for 2850 rpm and it did not get hot or even warm after running cont. for 15 mins
so i guess i am cool
thanks a lot for ur help guys
application involves making a 50 deg move in under 20 ms including settling time.

it has to be a servo
please help in finding a suitable motor/drive
thanks
