    S.O.G. Bearing Capacities (PLF)

I did the same thing. It seems to work out. Thanks.

    S.O.G. Bearing Capacities (PLF)

So looks like everything I'm running for the wall load equation is matching with the table, but for the "L" equation, it is hard to determine the bottom right varibal as the scanned image is blurry, but it seems to be an "I" if I continually use 64 I keep getting the table values. Can you...

    S.O.G. Bearing Capacities (PLF)

Looks like I was able to download a copy... Not the best quailty, but it should work. Which page are you referencing for the SOG wall loading chart?

    S.O.G. Bearing Capacities (PLF)

Without trying to buy some books online, does anyone have any PDF's referencing charts for wall thickness/loads applied to S.O.G. over soil types (i.e. 2,000 PSF bearing capacity, etc). Have some walls on a remodel currently that I am moving around to help carry ceiling joists and some roof load...

Minimum length % for sistered wood members

My thought its apply 10 D and 20L and call it 30psf x 1.33 (16" o.c.) and multiply it times the length of the CJ trib area on the spliced end. In return like your lever arm calls for apply the same loading but distance from bearing wall to the new splice member and sum both moments. If I call...

Minimum length % for sistered wood members

This would be (splicing) then technically as it is for just extending the member. Thanks KootK. I figured I could calc the applied load on the end of the existing member and then disperse that load thoughout the attached splice member.

Minimum length % for sistered wood members

Have a project that needs some 2x6 CJ sistered. The Joists had some funky wall framing and now need to extend probably 6" to the new all to bear. I like to try and sister full length of the member and bear on both ends and then factor DL & LL for shear and calc fastener req. My question is: is...
