Hello everyone,
I found this application for detecting a wire break.
I was wondering if this can work if Vin is alternative, since in my case Vin is the measurement of the alternative current of a power cable.
Thank you for your help
Hi Mc5w,
Thank you very much for all this details.
This is going to be used for portable machinery. My system doesn't exceed 100A and 650 V.
As I could understand, this solution would not work if the system is not grounded. My supply has 1ph 1 Neutral and is not always grounded.
Thanks Keith, I will search for how it works.
One last question, is this messenger pins can be used to drive a relay instead of dropping the power source ?
Keith Cress,
Yes this is what I need. I know it's still a risk for worker during the time response of the system, but it's making it safer.
This solution 'If that is what you're facing you need to insulate all conductors and include a messenger circuit that drops the power as the insulated...
As you know the power amplifier have a Gain that can not be exceed, if we are using the maximum gain to get 50A it means that when we have the open circuit we will not get a higher voltage for 50A. Right?
I am not an expert in power amplification, so I don't know the details of how it works.

It hard to access the load this way. the load is long (the poles are far away from each other). For logistic reason it's a hard solution to implement. The current and voltage measurements are directly at the output of the amplifier.
CT and a current trip relay is a good solution, but I need the system to be flexible in case i am not using an ac current anymore but a dc or impulsion.
I am using the amplifier to generate a current signal with different harmonics. The load is far from the amplifier. I need to protect the...
The current source in my case is an audio power amplifier. The voltage can not exceed a certain value, so the current in this case will not be forced to 50A anymore.
I am trying to find a way to automatically stop de current source in case there is an open circuit somewhere between de current source and the resistance R4.
R2 represents a simplified model of the resistance of the cable between I1 and R4.
My problem is that I couldn't find a way to detect the...
