If some one know of codes or standards that mention about the required difference between the natural frequency and forcing frequency (excitation). This is about evaluation of a structural member (beam) supporting a rotating object (fan).

If someone has a sample calculation or link on out plane strenght and stiffness of beam member. Kindly share. I have to design beam on OBCF AISC mention it needs lateral braces except for beams with sufficient out of plane strength and stiffness to ensure stability.
Are there prohibitions to splicing bracing members (part of seismic lateral resisting system) i.e diagonal (X, V or K), horizontal members. Cannot find clear provision from code.
