This is going to be used on a machine that fills capsules so there is hardly any load of any sort. What is important is that it not absorb water and be resistant to sanitizing chemicals which I don't have the composition of and good resistance to slip stick. Basically if you are familiar with...
I am looking for a substitute for Rulon because of the cost and I am wondering if there is something that will accomplish the same thing without being so pricey. Application has reciprocal movement only without rotation and very little load of any sort. It needs to have good slip stick...
I don't know about it that far back. When I was first there three years ago it was a bit stuffy and insular but it to has changed in all ways over the three years. It is my first choice.
These are the advantages I have found. There is a wider variety of topics available with people to respond to them because of a much larger number of subscribers. I have not asked here for serious help mainly because there is a policy against putting users together, that is not true on the BBS...
I don't have time to check this out but I believe that in ST4 there will be a direct link to the forum you can click on to go there and it will work off the "on maintenance" seat of software and not a sold to number login so anyone sitting in front of that workstation should be able to login...
I don't have a clue why some things are never fixed it seems or why problems get out the door without being caught. Or what causes some choices to be made for features. I do know that a good deal of attention is paid to complaints raised by many on the same issue so if you can get a number of...
Thanks John but I don't think they have any in northern Alabama or southern Tennessee. You are right on the money with the SE team and I think great things are in store.
I know you have been around and so maybe you can shed some light on something. Sorry everyone for kind of hijacking this...
John is correct in that what I say are my feelings and impressions and that my positions may not be the corporate SE positions. I know he is a tireless supporter of NX and we have differing opinions on things like the value of PLM World to SE users. I don't discount what he says and perhaps some...
Hey guys about the ram deal. They had a bunch of Dell 5500's there which did not have a real hot CPU in them but did just fine. They were testing out the new ATI graphics cards which did seem to be giving them some trouble. Can't remeber any comments on RAM related problems.
I was there and here are my impressions. Please keep in mind that I did not go to but roughly 1/3 of the sessions so much of what I am going to talk about is observations from others who were there in those sessions.
First off, the philosophy of how users are to be regarded has changed...
You bet I will be there and anyone within driving or cheap travel distance needs to be there. Cheap training on ST4 from the developers of the program, tips and tricks and you get to sit down with SE and help determine the future of the software in part to be what you as a user want. SE is dead...
In the "Home" tab select the HOLE pulldown and pick thread, then click on the second icon in which looks like a page with an arrow. Sort through till you find what you need as shown in the screen capture, your thread is there...
Working with two versions does sound like a recipe for at least serious inconvenience if not disaster. I think I would rather save those files out and bring them in to the newer version leaving the originals where they were if I felt I had to refer back to them. For those of you who are still on...
Thought about this before I left today. You guys might want to remind management that it will soon not matter if they don't want to spend the time to move to a new version. ST3 will absolutely be the last version supporting XP. I am not sure on this but for some reason I want to say that Office...
ST2 is far better than ST1 and as you say traditional is still there to use.
The biggest single issue I have with ST is that when it does fail WHY? You can spend way to much time trying to figure things out and the error messages given are really useless in telling you how to fix the problem...
I don't know how many users are at your facility but the way some plants are doing it is to get at least one of the users up to speed on ST and when he is pretty good he becomes the company trainer. They don't have to transition the whole department at once and new projects get moved to the new...
There is also a remote possibility that another program running can cause a conflict. I use the "Maxthon" browser and on some occasions I have to close it down while using SE or else I can have a complete freeze of all activity sometimes so bad that I have to just use task manager and close it...
Yes the ball was dropped for ST1 on the thread command. You may do it in traditional but not Synch. This was a known issue that was corrected for ST2. Once you open a part in ST it has to stay in ST unless you were to do something like exporting as say a parasolid file and bringing it back in as...
If I remember right isn't "Sheet Cam" a very basic entry level product? If you have a lot of machining to do I would recommend getting a better program. I machine directly off of 3d solids and I can pick features directly off the part to machine in a variety of ways from profiles to individual...
