    Accelerometer selection

Thanks for the info, Greg. The test report has the selftest results and the sensitivity values have been set as per the acc calibration info and the gain stteings are fine. My query was that I noticed different acc sensitivity values and wanted to knwo the rational behind it and whether it...

    Accelerometer selection

One of our products recently underwent a random vibration test at an external test house. The test was completed as per our test procedure (3 point control on the test fixture using a maximum control strategy with the location of the control and monitor lines as specified in the procedure)...

Explanation for change in magnitude after random vib test

As requested, I've attached the plots for the Z axis LLSS (as I have these to hand). I've also attached a summary table for the pre/post results in the other axes.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=5580cf71-55c9-4cea-950d-359271c58273&file=LLSS_plots_z_axis_(pre_&_post_random).pdf

Explanation for change in magnitude after random vib test

Hi, As a small company and being new to vibration testing, we are having difficulty in explaining to our customer the reason for a change in magnitude on a post random low level Sine test. The background is that we complete a functional test on the equipment, Pre LLS test (0.5g @ 20-2kHz)...

Use profile or symmetry to define surface feature

Thanks for the advice, Jim but I don't think I'll quote you on that 0.04 is a pretty wide tolerance (as my RF colleagues would easily settle on 0.0025mm) but it's the usual trade off of performance versus cost.

Use profile or symmetry to define surface feature

The application is as test piece for RF circuitry so the part needs to be as close as possible to its specified sizes (otherwise the performance is significantly degraded). Therefore, if profile is used to control the feature we are probably looking at a tolerance of 0.04mm!! However, the idea...

Use profile or symmetry to define surface feature

The drawing would be against ISO BS8888. Could you elaborate on the the use of position in this example?

Use profile or symmetry to define surface feature

Hi, First post here so any advice would be appreciated as I'm primarily a mechanical analyst so rarely venture in the realms of GD&T. However, I'm getting a test piece made to verify some simulation work and need guidance on the best way to dimension the part. I've attached a sketch showing...
