    Involute Spine

    I'm trying to change to an involute flat root side fit spline on a shaft design. ANSI B92.1-1970, is the standard referenced in machinery's handbook. The shaft OD is 1.187". Can anyone with the standard help me out with the dimensions of the shaft and coupling?

    Interference Fit

    Wow I screwed that up. Ok basically interference of .006" and I'm reducing the thickness of the sleeve. So its more likely to fail. Could fail from either buckling from the press load or radially from the pressure of the the interference. Thanks for your help.

    I'm looking to reduce ID of sleeve that is pressed into a housing. But I don't want to crush the sleeve. The housings can be 1030 or 1050 steel and the sleeve is 1018 steel. The current sleeve is 1.281" OD at MMC, ID is 1.060" LMC, with a length of 1.25". Hole in the housing is 1.287. This...
