    SAP2000 output

I am trying to find the center of mass and center of rigidity calculated by SAP2000. I know ETABS output them in a table format as well as graphically. But I cannot find the similar feature in SAP2000. Please help. Also, for response spectrum analysis done in SAP2000, does anyone know if the...

Mass and stiffness matrices in SAP2000

I have a 15 story concrete building modelled in SAP2000. Is it possible to get the program to tell me the mass and stiffness of each floor, i.e. I need the mass and stiffness matrices of the building. I have assigned diaphragm to each floor. Is it sufficient to tell SAP that I am looking for...

    Example 6-009

Hi, I am trying to re-create example 6-009 given in the SAP documentation under HELP. I am trying to see if I can get force and plot force-deformation in the link element. Please see the attached file and help me correct my model. I am not familiar what all the parameters should be. I would...

Step loading and force deformation curve

I am trying to see if I can apply a lateral force, either code defined or self-input, step by step so that I can study the force deformation relationship of the links, supposed to be non-linear. The goal is to make sure that only the links undergoes inelastic deformation with a given lateral...

    Time history analysis

I am running a time history analysis (a record of a ground motion) through my building. How do I combine the effects of time history to the effects of gravity loads (i.e. dead and live loads) so that I can check the adequacy of the structural elements? Do I combine linearly the gravity loads to...

    Self-weight of shell element

I used shell element for floor to span in between steel beams. However, I found that only the superimposed loads are transferred onto the beam, not the self-weight. Did anyone ever see that? I checked by displacing loads on the beams.
