Some times plastics threads make a squeaking sound when unthreaded. If the material can not be changed for the application, can this problem be addressed with a different thread design (pitch to diameter ratio, thread section profile, etc…)?
I have to specify a thread in a plastic container with lid, the container will have an o-ring and is intended to hold 1 liter of water. The diameter is approximately 110.00 mm and the pitch should be about 10 mm. I am looking for a standard specification for the thread tooth cross section...
I will like to set up attributes in my model that would automatically populate the drawing title-block for things like drawn by, date, etc. We do not use the master model concept, so the model and the drawings are on the same file. We are currently using NX3.
If I drag and drop a .jt file to a PowerPoint document, and email this file to someone, which have Microsoft Office but not JT2Go, would they be able to open the PowerPoint document, and pan, zoom or rotate the .jt model?
Has any one read the book “Computer Aided Design with Unigraphics NX3: Engineering Design in Computer Integrated Design and Manufacturing” by H Felix Lee and David Fulton (ISBN: 0-7575-2196-7)?
If you have read it, what is your opinion?
Can you compare it to "Practical Unigraphics NX3...
I am looking for suggestions on how to create 3 sided surfaces. What commands I could try? Any special technique or procedure I should look into? Thank you in advance.
I am providing a supplier with IGES files exported from NX2; the supplier is importing the files into Rhino 3.0. He is able to open the files, but the surfaces do not maintain their tangent continuity. Is there any set up I can change from my side to increase the chances of the supplier...
If I have an assembly of two parts, can I mesh one part with a fine mesh density and the other part with a course mesh density without using Superdraw?
Does any one have had success using the von Mises Curve with Isotropic Hardening Element Definition? Any pointers will be greatly
appreciated. Thank you.

Does any body have experience modeling silicone parts in FEA? Would it best to use the Odgen or Mooney-Rivlin material model; or the Standard (Isotropic Linear Elastic) material model? Does anyone have correlated a silicone model with empirical data? Any publications I can consult in the subject?
