Can anyone comment on the difference between the machinability of A572 versus A36. We are currently turning a part made of A36, the machine shop is finding that it is excessively gummy to the point where they have to replace inserts.

How does everyone texture a plastic part in SW07? We have started to create quite a lot of plastic injection parts and I have no idea how to texture the particular surface other than change the visible appearance.

I have a 3D sketch that I used to make a sweep of tubing that I need bent. Problem is that the tube bender uses autocad and will need the 3D data to make the bends. Good thing is that none of the sketches are splines, so I'm hoping that it won't be to hard to reproduce.

The subject line maybe a little confusing, but I run into an error every time I try to load a file by double clicking on it say in Windows Explorer or an folder for that matter.
If I open the file through solidworks I don't have a problem (File -> Open). As well if solidworks is already loaded...
Just curious if it is even possible to view a drawing without having the part file. I've noticed that I can preview the drawing without the part file, but once I load the file solidworks requests the part file.
We recently upgraded to SW2007 from the 2005 version and I've notice that the file sizes are larger.
For example I'll open a SW2005 part and save it in SW2007 and the file will be larger.
Can anyone tell me the difference between these to material? I've used matweb and they both seem very similar.
