Dear Engineers,
It has been much discussed in this forum referring to various codes on 1.5 safety factor for sliding and overturning. My query is can this factor be reduced in case of foundations for temporary structures.

Can we use Jacky's and Rankine formula to calculate the at-rest and passive earth pressure coefficients in rock. If not which approach will be suitable to determine the later earth coefficients in rock.
