PROBLEM WITH INCLUDED ARC IN NEW SKETCHER

Is anyone else having problems with included arcs in a sketch not updating related geometry? Not having any issues with included points or lines. When the original arc (part of another sketch) is changed, the included arc changes per the original, but any relations to that included arc do not...

pre hard steel for stamped part

Hi guys, I am reversing engineering a stamped part. I am a plastic injection mold designer and know practically nothing about stamping. So I am looking for some suggestions on what type of steel I am looking at. It is 1/8" thick (.121" to be exact) x 1 1/4 x 1 3/4. We have (5) samples of the...

    NEW hole callout

Does anyone understand why the new hole callout does not do dual dimensions? I call it "new" because we just switched from 8.5 to 11. When I called tech support, they said that there has not been that many complaints about it, but there was an ER, and they did add me to the list. Also, are we...

GPM VS. PSI FOR A GIVEN PIPE DIAMETER

Let me start by saying I don't know anything about fluid mechanics. I need to know how many GPM I can push thru a 2" pipe at 100 PSI. Assuming a length of 10 ft. And what would be the velocity. Seems like it would be a simple calculation. Can someone give me a formula? Thanks Chuck

JAGGED EDGES AND CURVES WINDOWS 7 UG 7.5.5.4

O.K., I was plenty happy with my old XP, but the computer guy put me on Windows 7. Now I have a graphics issue that we can't fix and everybody else on Windows 7 seems to just live with it. I have the same box with the old graphics card and other hardware. With XP I had no jagged edges or...

TEXT IN MODELING NOT STAYING ASSOCIATIVE

Why does the text in modeling not stay with the planar face it is placed on when the face is normal to the "Y" axis. If I place it on the a face normal to the "X" axis, and move that face, the text moves with it, as I would expect. I select the "associative" option when I create the text, but...

    THREADED HOLE NOT DISPLAYED CORRECTLY

We are on 7.5.5.4 but I don't remember if we had this problem on the previous release or not. When we create a detailed view that includes threaded holes the hidden lines do not appear. We only see the tap drill. The threaded holes are displayed correctly in the parent view. The only way we...

Suppress drafting object not cooperating with hole callouts?

I am trying to make a hole callout suppress and unsuppress along with the hole it is referencing. I am using "Suppress Drafting Object" with regular dim's and notes and it works fine. I am having fits with a c'bored hole callout created with "feature parameters". If I select all the...

    I blame 7.5.5 (revision block)

I know this may be old school, but it has worked well for me for a decade and it's quick and easy. I have used the same revision block since V16 and as soon as we went to 7.5.5 it doesn't work. It's just some basic curves and notes that I would drop into a drawing by using File-Import Part and...

    Suppress Drafting View by Expression

Can I suppress a drafting view, preferably a detail view, using an expression? I found an old thread that asked the same question but the question was never answered. Thanks

    Expressions

I know I can create If/Else formulas within expressions, and have been able to make them funtion. My question is, can I do If/Then statements? I want to drive the location of an endpoint in a sketch from any one of multiple points. For example: If A=1 Then B=X If A=2 Then B=Y If A=3 Then B=Z...

    UG license server

The new owners in their infinite wisdom decided to quit paying our maintenance fees to save money during this rotten economy. Meanwhile, our license server is a Dell Workstation that is 7 or 8 years old. The computer has an integrated network card and if the mother board goes out, we are...

Plotting from UG NX on Windows 7

Am I the only goober who can't get UG NX to plot on Windows 7? I have an HP430. I can plot to it with Adobe and E-Drawings, but not NX. It goes thru all the motions, but the job never leaves the "queued jobs". Here is the log file. 9 May, 2011 19:07:25:BPS: SUBMIT_TIME 9 May, 2011...

    UG NX3 ON WINDOWS 7

Has anyone ever figured out how to get NX3 working on Windows 7? I got to the bottom of the thread and it doesn't give me any answers. But I only know enough to be dangerous. I need this in a bad way!
