I have a flat plate with an angled central cut out to which I have applied 8 flanges at an angle.
I now wish to apply a further 7 flanges in the opposite directions as per flange 11 on the attached drawing.
Can anyone tell me why I managed to get flange 11 to work but I cannot get a mirror...
Dear EngAddict,
I managed to get the model to loft OK in the end and it updates OK when I change the MultiValue selection under the parameters in each of the files. So thank you so much.
My next task is to apply an external rule which will be activated upon opening say the top level file and...
Dear EngAddict,
I have attached my model of my derived parts "New Cap.ipt" and you will see that I am struggling to get the sketches to work.
Would it be possible to ask you to have a quick look at it please and let me know what I am doing wrong?
I am trying to produce a solid model of the...
I have come to model the solid cap for my folded sheet-metal component and wondered if anyone would be so kind as to advise me whether I have gone about this in the right manner.
In MDT I would have used one part to subtract from another and thus ensure a perfect fit.
You will see from the...
Hi,
Can anyone please help me with the attached surface model. I want to apply a fillet between the bottom flange surface and the sloping side face.
I need some form of rip to allow for the fillet but do not know how to apply it to the model either before or after thickening.
Thank you.

Recently rollupswx has been kindly helping me resolve a pyramidal sheet-metal model.
I have a residual problem that has been dogging me for some while; namely the flanges and in particular the bottom flanges on the attached model.
I cannot apply fillets to the intersections between the...
For several months I have attempted to make the transition from MDT 2009 to Inventor 2011, albeit at the same time being embroiled in a legal battle with the board of directors of a particularly nasty example of a British Bank.
Notwithstanding the latter, I seem to have overcome much of my...
Hi,
Can anyone please help me overcome the inability of the flanges to mitre in the corners.
I have tried numerous models, including repairing Inventor, all to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I am sure I am going to be shot down by asking this but, how does one effect the AutoCAD equivalent of snap to endpoint when 2D sketching say on the face of a part?
Was there a reason why this constraint option was not included in Inventor?
Thank you.

Can anyone please explain why the folwing iRule does not control the parameter HeightAdjustment even though the Driving Rule column confirms that the iRule affects the parameter?
Thank you.

If BldgType = Outer
HeightAdjustment = Height
BldgType = Inner And SunStrength = Normal...
My bug is that it would seem that Inventor only allows for any new parameter values to be added to the bottom of the list and not inserted in a meaningful place to create a logically structured file.
I am able to modify the exported XML file produced by the parameter facility but if I re-import...
I have noticed that an error is introduced when forming a flange that is not at 90 degrees to the primary face. The effect creates an offset i.e. the furthermost point of the flange face does not align with the original surface.
I have attached a simple image to illustrate the problem.
In...
Can anyone please explain what might cause the auto-mitering facility within the corner option of the flange feature in Inventor 2011 to fail?
It seems to be somewhat touchy!
Many thanks,
cjj
Can anyone advise me how to copy the parameters file out to an external spread sheet.
Inventor seems to expect you to create the spread sheet prior to making the component whereas I would like to accept the existing parameters file with the ability to alter a few of the measurements.
I am a...
