I have gone through API620 in detail and found no requirement for RT of annular plate, annular plate thickness & width calculation unlike API650. I am just curious about the possible reasons, as API620 tanks seems to be more complex.
Hello experts:
I have sometime came across large API 620 tanks having significant design pressure, which requires a very large compression area. i tried using all of the available Compression-ring Juncture options, but still there used to be a big difference.
eg. presently i have following tank...
Received some pressure vessel drawings, having following data
ASME Sec VIII Div.2
Dia: 5500mm
Lenght: 20200mm
Thickness: 14(Shell) / 10(heads)
Hemispherical heads
supported on 3 saddles.
Vessel have internals of more than 20000kg
Although design is not in my scope of work, just curious to...
Please correct & guide me if my understanding is wrong regarding these two issues:
1) With Ref to API650 5.2.1(b), upto 0.25kpa external pressure, no calculation is required (safety against such vacuum is inherently built in its internal pressure design). Annex-V is for pressure above 0.25kpa...
Hi.
I have come across design of some horizontal pressure vessels (ASME Sec VIII Div.1/2) that are extremely long.
Eg
The longest among them is:
Diameter: 8m
Length T-T: 62m
Internal pressure: 38 bar
External: Full Vacuum
Specific Gravity: 0.51
I am unable...
Hi. In API 650 5.12 tank anchorage calculation... for design pressure case, instead of using input design pressure, it uses maximum calculated design pressure from Annex-F.
Doing so, causes the anchorage to increase as we increase the compression area (increase in compression area increases...
Hi.
I need to design a 4m3 transport vacuum cryogenic tank for liquid oxygen.
Can someone please guide about the material and type of supports that are typically used in annular space, so that weight and acceleration effects are accounted as well as conduction is also minimized. Any sketch...
