I am trying to automate the process of several Hot lime softeners.
The valve suppliers is asking me the concentration of solids in the discharge line of the softener to control the flow output.
Can anibody tell me please what is the solids concentration in Pounds per gallon or Grms per liter...
I was told that by replacing the bottom extraction nozles on antracite filters and Zeolite filters , you can increase the capacity.
The replacement sugested was to change the slot opening type nozle by the wound wire type.
can anybody help me on this.

I am visiting an old plant with no engineering records, this plant has several hot lime softeners of diferent types and dimentions,
Some are upflow , where the new water goes down a central pipe and up trought a mud bed

Other softeners are of the down flow type where new water goes at the top...
