I would like to map different thicknesses on the "skin" of a solid cylindrical part. The thought is to just lay the part out so all of the surface is visible in one view. In other words, an "un-rolled" view. Is this possible in NX 7.5?
I am having trouble changing the symbol shape on the end of a datum target leader. For some reason the option that I want is grayed out. I am able to copy paste a datum target symbol from the 3D view but it cannot be used to precisely point to the thing I want. Any thoughts?

I am trying to get a bunch of points created on surfaces. I was able to use planes to intersect surfaces to create curves but what I need is the intersection points of those lines laying on each surface of the part. How do I do that. I am new to Catia and need the points to...
Is there a way to create a point grid/cloud from a solid model that could then be exported to other CAD software? Maybe something that would auto generate points for all of the surfaces?
In NX5, I have always been able to select using the multi-select rectangle. Just recently I noticed that its not working, when I drag a window around some solids to select them, it should select everything that is included in the window. For some reason it doesn't select anything, though when I...
What is the correct process for updating the referenced model in a drawing? I am under the understanding that there is some way of doing that in Catia, just not sure where and how. I have been using a model to create a 2d annotated drawing but the customer has given us a new model of the same...
Can someone lead me through step by step on how to create a User Defined Symbol similar to the "Triangle with point Up" that is in Insert>Symbol>ID symbols, so that I could then use that in annotation text as a flag symbol with a number inside?
I am using NX 5/6. The documentation is kind of...
Would it be possible to import FT&A captures into a 2D Drafting drawing? This would be really nice since we get models from the customer with the annotations already in them. This would save time creating MBD drawings for use on the floor.
I am not sure how to modify the line spacing settings for dimensions. Using V5R19. See attached file. No matter what I do it seems to default to some huge distance...
I have a chamfer that I am trying to dimension and when I click on the line the prompt asks for a second linear object for chamfer dimension. I try clicking on other lines but am unable. What do I need to do to get this second linear object to click on?
