In the old days the Delft Hydraulics Institute in the Netherlands used to do large size check valve testing on pressure loss and dynamic behaviour.
Is there globally ANY test labaratory available that can do dynamic behaviour testing of valves DN 600?
Hello.
Has anyone experience with weld repairs on martensitic stainless steel castings ASTM A 743 CB 30 (Or material grade GX22CrNi17+QT = 1.4059 in EN Terms)?
As the parts are final machined now, we are looking for procedures WITHOUT PWHT.
So far we are used to simply scrap the parts when we...
Dear All,
A customer is asking for a compliance certificate in accordance with IEC 61508 regarding the safety integrity level (SIL) of check valves.
As far as I know, this only applies to actuated safety valves.
Does anyone know if this applies to check valves also?
Hi All,
Does anyone know an independant test laboratory that does API 6A fire tests on check valves in Germany or at least Europe?
Any info will be appreciated.
We recently found large amounts of black oily, sandy dirt in the suction line of a natural gas compressor.
It seems the pollution has come from the discharge line as the suction line check valves has failed?
Does this make sense?
Any idea how that kind of dirt can get into a natural gas line?
Hi all,
If a J93404 Superduplex casting material fails the G48 method A corrosion test, does this mean it will FOR SURE corrode in operation in a seawater line?
Dear All,
We all know that check valves should be installed at least 3 x DN behind the discharge of pumps, not on 90° ellbows, at least 2 x DN before any downstream valve, etc.
This is common engineers knowledge, but where in the literature is this written?
Hi all.
What cast material would be used for a valve body in Helium service, temperature up to 350°C, pressure max 90 bar?
We were informed, that under these condition Helium tends to creep through any kind of casted material so only forged material to be used.
Can anybody help me with the selection of valve body material in accordance with API 6A 60K? If possible with a european equivalent?
Thanks in advance.
Hi all.
For a valve test bench we are looking for ball valves to be installed in the filling pipes with as big as possible open flow path.
They should be 1/2" and 1 1/2" class 4500 to cover 600 bar operating pressure, fluid to be water and air/nitrogen, bubble tight sealing, threaded ends...
Most of the American water works have "pump control cone or ball valves" acting also as a check valves behind their pumps. In Europe the standard seems to be a non slam nozzle check valve plus an isolation gate or butterfly valve. -which seems to be the less expensive design.
Can anyone tell me...
Hi everybody. We are looking for material of valves that can handle water in a ph range from ph 2 to ph 12.
316 seems not to be the right option, even Duplex is not recommended. Any ideas?
