Can anybody help in finding codes numbers for Shunt Reactors, Neutral Earthing Reactors, Tuning Reactors,
Smoothing Reactors, Load Balancing Reactors and Interphase Reactors for US and Europe Use?
As per IEEE STD 485, K factor are to be taken from the cell performance curves. As per attached image please advise if value of k be less than 1 for loads of duration less than 1 min (like for 20 sec loads).
I have worked out some battery calculations for a substation and if I take 1 minute...
For 220kV line, the thermal limits are normally 300-1000MVA with economic power 350MVA. If I calculate current using formula P=1.732 x V x I (P= Thermal Limit=1000MVA)
I=2624A
Is this my short circuit limit for breaker installed for this transmission line operation/protection?
Thanks in advance.
I am involved into load flow studies for a system with Generator, Transformers and Transmission lines. I am referring a book "overhead power lines, Planning Design , Construction" by F. Kiessling, P. Nefzger, J F Nalasco and U Kaintzyk)
I am taking following cases. In book following cases are...
I was searching a software which can assist engineers in making the layouts of substations. I know one from Bentley (Bentley Substation).
Is there any other software you aware of?
One of my friend asked me this question where he was wondering if a separate earthing design is done for isolators 220kV. These grounding/earthing are then connected to main grid. If it is done what practices are followed? He was calling this earthing as auxiliary grounding/ earthing.
If...
I know one formula
Economic Voltage = 5.5 Sqrt{L/1.6 + KVA/150}
Where L = Length of Transmission Line
KVA is Power to be transferred
Is anybody aware of the standard/ code from where this taken?
Are there other methods also to check the voltage economics?
My question is about Cyme Grd- In soil Analysis, What valves are to be supplied in Probe distance and resistivity?
Is that talking any particular method of soil testing/ resistivity measurements?
Thanks in advance
It would be great if someone can tell me names of some software which can be used to do substation calculations like, sag, forces exerted on conductor in open terminal substation, etc.
Thanks in advance
Is there any standard/ book/ any ref which can tell us about the +, - and 0 like currents when they occur under different situations?
Example- Like in Transformer
Starting Inrush- What seq currents exists?
Normal balanced operation-What seq currents exists?
Faults in winding-What seq currents...
I was going through ETAP Help Files which states,
X0
Zero sequence reactance in percent (machine base); used for calculating short-circuit currents for unbalanced faults.
X2
Negative sequence reactance in percent (machine base); used for harmonic analysis.
Is it right?
I have a Transformer (11/.4kV) 1000kVA 3Phase, Dyn11, Dry Type, Secondary which can supply 25kA Short Circuit Current. Now Secondary is connected to a Bus Bar whose R = 0.48mOhm and X=0.265 Ohm which is connecting a panel. From panel a cable is connected R= 5.3mOhm X=2.6 mOhm.
My concern is...
I wanted to know the location of CT whether it is on the incoming side or outgoing side of breaker.
Kindly tell me what difference it will make it it is kept at other side
Is there is any defined boundaries which talks about what codes to be followed in which geographical areas
