One of our facility is operating under thermal cycle with temperature raging from 60 Dec C to 260 Dec C. After operating it for appx 5 years, we found some cracks on our piping system (flange and flange to elbow weld joint/ HAZ) which is in DSS UNS 31803 construction.
We send this piping...
Not sure if I am reading it correctly as to why a full penetration weld joint preparation is required for the seal weld? In addition, seal weld from both the sides will not be possible if the air cooler is multi pass with more than one pass partition plates on the header or have stiffener...
Dear all,
We are facing severe erosion problems on desnding liners installed on produced water system. These desanding liners are of DSS (UNS 31803)and a part of multicyclone desanding vessel.
We can understand some erosion on the liners due to sand but the rate at which erosion is taking...
Heads are cold formed using normalized plates (P No 1, Group 1. Heads are subsequently normalized after cold forming. Do we need test coupon to represent normalizing after forming as per the requirement of UCS 85 (f)?
Any idea if the below interpretation is still applicable as the vessel...
We have stacked heat exchanger designed with ASME Sec VIII Div 1. Exchanger experiences Thermal cycle with inlet temperature varying from 41 Deg C - 260 Deg C every hour. Fatigue evaluation for the exchanger was therefore requested as per ASME Sec VIII Div II.
Heat exchanger vendor is carring...
Recently I came across some SA 516 Gr 70 NACT(nornalized + Accelerated cooled + tempered) plates from some reputed mill where tempering temperature is indicated as 590 Deg in MTC.
As per SA 516 Gr 70, section 5.4
If approved by the purchaser, cooling rates faster than those obtained by cooling...
