I have a set of FEA results in NX 7.0 for a con rod under load, however the mesh is notchy and inaccurate, i know there is a mesh smoothing option or averaging tool that displays the results better. However I just can't seem to find it.

I'm attempting to simulate a cam lobe moving across a flat follower face in FEA to determine contact stresses, whats the best way to go about applying the forces?
I have the tappet fully constrained, do i use a bearing force, or idealised geometry to apply a force??

Does anybody know if the student edition of dynacam software is any good, i'd like to buy the original version but it's quite expensive. If anyone knows where i can get it cheaper or le tme know if the student version is any good. would be appreciated

I'm attempting to model a compression spring in NX i have the main coil sections done using a swept feature and sketches, however i am having difficulty modelling the ends of the springs as the pitch at the spring ends is different to the main coils.
Any help in how this problem can be solved...
I have used the mirror body feature to generate the lobes on a camshaft, i wondered if there is a way i can rotate each section of the mirrored parts to have the cam lobes for each cylinder 90degrees apart, help would be appreciated,
