There are two caged induction motors which were given to us in a bad condition and were refurbished to like-new now. I am thinking of doing a demonstration of having one motor driving another motor to generate power.
Motor A is rated to 300kW 4kV 4pole 60Hz,
Motor B is 400kW 6kV 4pole 50Hz...
How do you convert from double layer lap 1-9 to single layer full pitch concentric and double layer concentric? What coil span would you recommend when converting to double layer concentric?
The stator has 36slots, 12 turns per coil, 2 parallel star. The coils are random wound pull through.
With regards to caged induction motor,
How does winding move within the slots when voltage is applied? Can this be explain by the left hand fleming?
Does the rotor bars play any role in "pushing" the stator coil to either side of the slot as to minimise its movement?
I have done a quick search on this forum, but unable to find a thread on this.
Is this the right way to calculate "motor capacitance"?
Take C = Epsilon * A/d
with C = capacitance
Epsilon = Epsilon0 * relative_permitivity_of_air
A = Area of stator lamination bore
d = airgap
