Welding Alloy 625 and its Interpasses

Looking for some help on this one, when welding Inconel 625 overlay , what would be suitable interpass.I have a feeling I am too high at the moment using pre heat and interpass temeratures based on the substrate material, the weld is becoming discolored, with an almost oxidised look to it. If...

    Duplex to 4140 pipe

is it possible to retain both mechanical properties? I would have a imagined problems with trying to keep the duplex cool yet maintaining a suitable preheat on the 4140. Would the 4140 not have to be buttered first and subjected to post weld heat treatment prior to being joined to the Duplex...

X65 clad with Inconel 625, closure welds

Can someone please enlighten me as to why during the fabrication of 625 clad HSLA steels, the closure welds have to be made with a 625 filler right out and not say root and hot pass with 625 (which would take up the clad area of the joint) and the fill and cap made with a suitably matched carbon...

duplex weld overlay on x65 pipe

Is it possible to deposit duplex overlay to the bore of say x65 pipe without utilising a buttering run of dissimillar material before hand, and would i still have a interpass temperature issue as is the case with girth welds. thanks
