I am looking for a source for a 2-piece, interlocking retaining ring. It is sililar to a Truarc 5107 except smaller. .42 OD x .32 ID x .032 thick. Attached is a picture. Any ideas?
Does anyone know of a preparation done to stainless steel to increase the breakaway strength? Perhaps to make the material more active? The threads are 5/16-32 316 stainless steel. Any other suggestions other than Loctite? I would like to reach a breakaway torque of 100 in-lb.
I am trying to lock two mating 316 stainless steel threaded (5/16-32) parts together permanently. I need them to hold 100 in-lb breakaway torque after curing. I have tried both Loctite 262 and 2760 and the breakaway torque is only around 50 in-lb. Any suggestions? I was going to try some 3M...
