Hi,
In the latest edition of API 600 (Fifteenth Edition - 2015) in Table 8, the trims No. 1 (13Cr) and No. 2 (SS304) have become obsolete.
I would like to know if these trims are removed definitly from the manufacturing process or we can specify them (13Cr for example) for some non Hazardous...
I want to discuss an issue we have faced when dealing with PSV body wall thickness.
The PSV is installed on a process line where the corrosion allowance (CA) is required.
The need for the PSV was urgent, unfortunately the available PSV’s did not match such requirement i.e WTrequired >=...
Hello,
For the coating of our pipes we have specified long alkyds paint as a primer. The paint Vendor suggests the use of medium alkyds because it is better than long alkyds paint.
After a little search we found that as the oil length of the resin increases, generally the viscosity decreases...
Hi,
I want to know why for orifice flanges the tolerances for internal diameter shall as per ASME B16.5 (+/- 1mm) except for welding neck flange except which is specified in ASME B16.36 equal to +/- 0.5% of nominal diameter.
Please advise because I didn't see any issue to consider ASME B16.5...
Hi,
I am just asking if there is manufacturers which can provide a gate valve with body bonnet flange with confined gasket.
Our customer is requesting confined gasket for all gate valves included those with pressure class 150. while it is not mandatory by API600 : article 5.5.2.
Regards.
Hi,
During last years I have been involved in projects for gas pipeline and gas facilities. The requirements for soft seat ball valves was zero leakage as per API6D. All factory tests certify that all ball valves tested do not present any leakage. At this step, all things are right.
BUT, few...
Hi,
We have received an offer from one of our supplier for gate valves. He have stated that the valves are offered according to ASME B16.34 last edition except for paragraph 6.1.2 that remains as stated in 2004 edition.
By comparing the two editions, I found differences in tables 3A/3B for...
Hi,
While reviewing a calculation note for 2 pieces ball valve, I have asked Manufacturer to check the inner and outer ligament of body.
His reply was that according to ASME B16.34 Clause 6.1.2 (c) the ligament calculation is not required for 2 pieces valve construction design.
The clause cites...
Hi;
Actualy we are working on a WPS for an isolating joint wich have a material with P Number P1 and thickness up to 31.75 mm. Due to welding temperature (250°C)we did not specify a Post Weld Heat Treatement.
We want to know if PWHT requirement is indicated in ASME IX or another standard.
Regards.
Dear All,
I am specifying a ball valve 3/4" for a corrosive service and I am not sure if a provision of corrosion allowance of 3mm is enough to avoid any leakage problem during service or I have to specify also weld overlay for dynamic seal area?
Thanks.
Hi,
We have required a HP gas test for ball valve for gas service.
At the end of the test, we want to require visual inspection of seat and the internals in order to verify eventually damage of this parts. Since this check can not be made without dismantling the valve ie impact on price and...
Hi,
I have received a calculation note for ball valve from our supplier and the calculation for body wall thickness was made according to ASME B16.34 and also with ASMEVIII Part I.
Please can you tell me if ASME VIII Part 1 is applicable for valves calculation since this standard is intended to...
Hi;
I'm working on ball valves specifications and Our client spicify the following standards for fire tests ISO 10497 / API 607 and API 6FA.
I have just checked this standards and I found the qualifications of valves by nominal size aren't the same between ISO 10497 / API 607 and API 6FA;
- in...
Dear All;
I just ask if the valves pup pieces are considered as a part of valves and then their wall thickness will be calculated considering valve design pressure. Or pup piece are considered as a part of pipe and their wall thickness will be calculated considering piping / pipeline design...
Hi;
Please, can you explain me what's a Maximum Allowable Operation Pressure for ball valves since I haven't find this parameter in API 6D and ASME B16.34.
Thanks.
Hi,
As per ASME B31.49 the difference between a maximum and a minimum OD of bends shall not exceed 3% of the nominal mating pipe within the bend while the ID at the bend shall not be less than 97% of the minimum mating pipe ID. Are this 2 requirements related?
