We have a case of an 8 feet deep reinforced slab on grade that is going to carry train rails.
The structural drawings specify a maximum pour length of 25 ft in order to have a construction joint every 25 ft for the crack control.
Is ther's any way to run away with a pour length of 100...

I have been assigned to design a safety platform for a free fall objects (dropped object platform) and it looks that there are lots of criteria involved in the design. Does anyone have an idea about the design criteria. Can you recommend any book regarding the this DOP design.

guys, i have never done any wood design before so i need help in the designing of scaffold wood mudsill under a load of 30kN or 6750Ibs with a soil bearing capacity of 200kPa or 4180psf. I know that the type of lumber and its density is involved but still have no idea how.
