My present employer is considering a switch from NX (which we have been using since Unigraphics V9) to Creo. I am not real excited about the thought of this, but am curious if anyone has any pro's and con's? What does NX do better than Creo and vice versa?
Thanks
Steve

Is there an easy way to tell if a part family member is out of date? It appears that information->assemblies->Family Report only mentions out of date if there is some sort of selection criteria. For those members that do not have selection criteria it does not state if they child is out of...
Is there a way to control the grow direction of vertically grouped callouts? I have a situation where a user wants the leader to come from the top balloon, but when group vertically is selected the leader is always on the bottom balloon.

What is the preferred method for doing a formed opposite part? In previous versions of NX, when flat patterns were derived using forming/flattening we would draw our sheet metal part and then mirror it through a plane. We would then put a flat pattern on both bodies. Using part families we...
I am having trouble getting autoballoon to work in the manual method. I have followed these instructions from John Baker:
Now as to how to add a manual, yet fully associative, ID balloon to your drawing, just go into the ID symbol function and place as many 'empty' (don't enter any numbers or...
We have an old file that did not have its spreadsheet data migrated from Xess to Excel. We no longer have Xess on any of our systems. Is there a way for us to migrate to spreadsheet data to excel or are we stuck and have to redo it?
Thanks.

Is there an easy way to find out what family template a part came from? Some simple like info. I know that if the part is in an assembly NX will look for the template file.

I have a part where I know what I want my end conditions are. I need to make a flange connecting these two bodies into one sheet metal part. How do I do that? My description may not be the best but if you open the part you will see clearly what I want to do.

I can't make a break out section in NX 6. When I expand the view to put my curves in all options under insert curve are grayed out except text. If I put the curves in modeling I can't select them even though they are on my work layer.
Anyone got any ideas?
We just switched to NX6 a week ago and now a coworker of mine is having trouble with his component arrays. He has a formula that updates the number of a specific component but even though the expression updates the model does not. Once he goes to edit his component array and clicks on edit...
In NX 6 is there a way to change a hole type? For example if I insert a threaded hole but then later need to change it to just a screw clearance hole how can I do that? When I edit the hole all other types are greyed out.
Thanks,
