Just had visit from electric transmission company. He wants to erect a wall around our transformer compound to protect personnel. They have had 2 instances of the porcelain 132 CT exploding and need to replace all of them right across the country (big job). Anyone heard of this problem ?
Sorry I...
I'm trying to think of a reason why I should NOT use a positive displacement pump which was previously used to pump glycol to pump water.
I can't think of a reason why I should not, anyone have any thoughts ?
I have gas flowing through a pipe and have calculated the velocity. I now need to decrease the velocity for a pigging operation. I can calculate the flow I need at the new velocity but need to work out the pressure at these conditions. Does anyone have a link to an online calculator or any othe...
Anybody know of a quick and simple way of determining how wet a gas is coming from a well ? I'm thinking of something like a draeger or kitigawa sample tube/hand pump.
Other than :-
friction
obstructions such as bends, injection quills etc
gravity
gradient
thermal expansion/contraction
compressibility factors
Is there anything else I should be taking into account when calculating pressure drops in a 7km pipe run flowing natural gas ?
Anyone have, or can give me link for, an online calculator for determining volumes in a horizontal cylindrical tank based on vwertical units (ie as in a sight glass)
I can find loads with imperial units but need one with SI units (litres/m3)
I use MEG injection as a hydrate inhibitor when my gas pipeline pressures/temps get inside the hydrate formation envelope.
Does anyone have any ideas on injection rates ?
I'm basically just guessing and probably way over injecting and wasting glycol.
A calculation or table based on gas...
Can anyone help me out to find a method of discovering the temperature and pressure that hydrates may form in a gas pipeline ?
I have the gas composition/flowrate/pressure/temperature data.
I know there are programmes I can buy but as my process conditions do not vary much I only need to find...
