Hello, I added my question on another group (API pumps), but I did no recive an answer.
Maybe someone here will be able to help me.
I have a question. API610 table H.2 for materials recommended for 12%Cr, do not use on hardened shafts (above 302 HB). (material groups 1.4021, 1.4005, 1.4005)

Hello,
I have a question. API610 table H.2 for materials recommended for 12%Cr, do not use on hardened shafts (above 302 HB). (material groups 1.4021, 1.4005, 1.4005)
In many applications we have seen this type of material used for the shaft, why doesn't API allow it?
Hello,
The api standard does not allow the use of axial clearances to balance axial thrust. Is it possible to use a balancing disc (axial clearances) to balance the axial thrust or not?
Unless it is only possible for the application feed water pumps.
Hello,
I asked this question on the API 610 forum but got no answer so I'll give it a try here.
I have a question about the type of bushing material that should be used in VS pumps, e.g. VS4.
API 610 recommends the material filled carbon for bowl shaft bushings. What about pumping gasoline...
Hello,
I have a question about the type of bushing material that should be used in VS pumps, e.g. VS4. API 610 recommends the material filled carbon for bowl shaft bushings. What about pumping gasoline, i.e. flammable liquid. What about wetting the bushings, is it enough to wet the pumped liquid...
I have a problem with the choice of material for the line shaft bearing in vertical pump. The pump pumps liquid ammonia at -11. Previously, a PTFE bushing was used and the material was seized.
Will you help in choosing the material?
What kinde of material for line shaft bearing can we use for...
Hello,
In APi 610, paragraph 9.3.6, the span between the shaft bushings is specified, but not directly the shaft length. It is not obvious that this sleeve determined single part of pump shaft, eg. 6m lenhgt shaft.
What determined shaft lenght? Only technological possibilities?
Thank You for reply.
I have a question. It is necessary to use shims between carbon steel baseplate and stainless steel pump?
API610 (p.7.3.6.) there is that shims shall not be use under the pump, but what if there is a difference of potential between this two materials.
hi,
I wonder that is there a rule of thumb of selecting centrifugal pump for viscosity liquid.
How hight can be viscosity for centrifugal pumps.
Perhaps is there a corelation beetwen pump size and cSt value.
Hi,
I have a question about type of valve used for drain casing pump. E.g for pump OH2 type on casin drain flange I can instal globe valve ora ball valve. Is there a rule that i must use only globe type valve?
Thank you for answer.
Continuing. My question was referring to the requirements of ASME and API610. API610 refers to ASME VIII if we have low temperatures. I have not found any requirements for martensitic cast steels for example GX8CrNi12 (according to the European stendardów and recommended by API610 for pressure...
For low temperature pump applications such as -29dC and below selected material shall meet the minimum charpy v noch impact energy requirements.
My question is what is the energy for chromium cast steel eg. A217 Gr CA15 (European std.GX8CrNi12). Examination in zero temperatures have given us the...
Hello.
I have a question. Maybe is seems be a easy but I don't now what is the best solution in centrifugal pumps in wear ring.
Generally when we need use a serrated seal it is on the rotation part (on impeller). Once i saw a casing wear ring with serrate, and I have a doubt that it is a good...
Hi all.
I have a question about connecting piping in systems such as liquid barrier.
Can i use unions such as in appendix. Tube connections between mechanical seal and vessel.
Thank you very much for the tips.
Hi all.
how understand the notation in the api610 p.No. 5.3.3. When we wat to design api pump eg. OH2 we have to assumed 4MPa or 5MPa (PN50; ISO 7005-1) pressure in casing?
thx for answer
Hi all
I have a question, it is acceptable to the implementation of aluminum impellers according to API610.
Aluminum is a cheap and relatively rugged material.
If we will use balancing holes we can reduce axial force by 70%.
How many percent the axial force will be reduced when we will use impeller back vanes.
