Hello Everyone,
I am looking for documentations on PRAO software from EDF. it is an old software that is not commercially available anymore I think.
If any one has documentations and is willing to share that would be awesome.
Thank you in advance and best regards,
Samy

Hello Everyone,
Anyone has a complete and comprehensive list of all the RTUs available out there in the market for distribution automation purpose?
Thank you in advance
Hello Everyone,
I read in the literature for motors that I_start = (NEMA_CODE x HP)/ sqrt(3)x V
However for a lower voltage at starting, the starting current decreases, but this formula insinuates the opposite. it is kind of confusing.
Any guidance?
Thank you in advance

Hello Everyone,
In reliability analysis for distribution networks, when I am doing a calibration based on historical outages, why is it that only the overheard lines and cables failure data (failure rates and failure duration) get adjusted? why don't the other devices on the network...
Hello everyone,
Is there a way to estimate/calculate the impedance of a step voltage regulator based on the tap it is on? Basically, let’s say the regulator is on tap 3, what is its impedance?
Thank you in advance

Hello Everyone,
I hope my message finds you well.
I am working on a presentation to show the advantage to use an all Recloser approach instead of Recloser-Sectionilizer approach for the improvement of reliability of a feeder. I believe that the approach of Recloser-Sectionilizer has been...
Hello Everyone,
I hope my message finds you well.
I am trying to estimate the annual average losses in a feeder by using the Load loss factor as follow:
Annual Average losses = Annual peak losses(kwh)× Load Loss Factor
where:
Load Loss Factor= [(K)×(Load Factor) +(1-k)× (Load Factor)^2 ]...
Hello Everyone,
I hope that my message finds you well.
I am looking for datasheet that shows the characteristic of the following overhead line conductors (Copper 100mm, Copper 70mm and Copper 32mm)
Any one can help, it would be greatly appreciate it
Thank you in advance
Hello Everyone,
I am at a point in my career where I want to develop my technical knowledge for substation automation and probably head toward that. I know that nothing beats practical experience, but I was wondering if there are literature, references, handbooks, websites,..... you can...
Hello Everyone,
Does the controller on the on load tap changer of a power transformer always monitors the voltage on the secondary side no matter if the tap changer is on the primary or secondary side?
Thank you and best regards,
Hello Everyone,

Hello Everyone,
I am currently an electrical engineers specialized in power system with 3 years of experience under my belt.
I was thinking of doing a master degree, and I am really interested in doing it in Power system Protection.
I looked around for a good program but I can not find one in...
I have a question regarding the tap Changes of power transformer
Is the bandwidth of the tap changer specified in volts on a 120v base or in percentage of the secondary voltage of the transformer?
I have been trying to get some spec of manufacturer, but it seems so hard to get
Hello everyone,
My question is about The LDC settings for a transformer with an LTC tap changer.
How do we calculate the R&X settings and also how do we define PT and CT settings?
Thanks in advance and best Regards,
Hello everyone,
I have a very very basic question, but it seems that I can’t find an answer that satisfies my curiosity
What is the difference between a Circuit breaker and a Recloser?
Thanks in advance for the help
