    surface-to surface contact VS. node-to -surface

    I have solved a very simple contact problem using surface-to-surface contact (CONTA171/TARGET169) elements and also using node-to-surface (CONTA175/TARGET169). I compared the results, they are different--not significantly but well I am concerned. Any idea? Thanks

    Hi, I was wondering if Ansys has the capabilities of generating a mesh like the picture I have attached? I know that it is possible in ABAQUS. A very awkward approach would be meshing individual areas with uniform mesh, and then constrain them together. I wonder if there is any better approach...

    generating prism solid element

    I try to generate [only] one Solid --let's say solid 95) element over a prism volume (a prismatic volume with rectangular section). Whatever I do, ansys generated more than one element!
