Gents
if the proposed transmission line is at high altitude area (more than 2000m above sea level) with a span of 300km, 345kV..by simple high level analysis, what are the considerations to be made in design to minimise the line cost in terms of insulation voltage levels?
thanks,
Danilo
Gents,
Just want to get your opinion regarding the fault calculation on 33kV feeder line
if the load are neglected and do not contribute into the fault and are fed by 4 x 33kV feeder cables 5km long and terminated to 33kV generator terminal bus at one end , should the impedance of cable...
Gents,
Could you advise please if its normal to assume that parameters of positive phase sequence is equal to negative phase sequence at single line to ground fault? Is it possible to derive from positive and zero phase sequences reactive MVA ratings the source available MVA ? Grateful if...
Gents,
I have a line impedance of 0.9+j0.1(positive phase sequence) on a 15km transmission line, can i ignore the 0.9 resistance in the calculation of fault current using per unit method? or is this still relevant given that length of transmission line?
many thanks,
Danilo
Gents,
Just a general inquiry that i hope would be worthy of discussion..is an Air Break Switch rated at 12/24kV considered as protection device for short circuit or it is just an isolator and meant to be damaged during fault condition?
thanks,
Danilo
Gents,
Could you advise whats the recommended tension for a spur line (7/4.5 AAC) that T-offs (80deg deviation) from a pole with 200m span of 30/7/2.50 ACSR on each side and with existing tension of 18%? Should it be 18% too?
regards,
Danilo
Gents
can you help me figure out how the fault current at 11kv pole substation (first feeder out) say,2km out, returns to its source (Zone Substation)? Soil resistivity is less than 100 ohm m. Earthing at the pole sub is 2 x 2.4m electrode for HV & LV. Assuming a L-G fault happens at 11kV...
Gents,
if an underground 11kv feeder cable screen from substation is earthed and bonded to existing bare LV neutral on pole approx 120m from substation and then a fault occurred along overhead LV conductors, could the fault be seen by feeder's protection relay ?
Many thanks,
Gents, given this kind of spot load, what system voltage arrangement should be used
to ensure power quality and reliability of the system? The available subtransmission
system in the area is 66kv ..the 230kv is 160km away from the proposed plant.
Appreciate your suggestions..
Hi Gents,
Could you advise me please what appropriate %CBL should be applied for existing 3/4/2.50 ACSR conductor with a span of 180m. For new conductors, the recommended %CBL is 20%.
regards,
Danilo
Hi Guys,
Could you please recommend good reference books or any reference materials for the above subject?
Im looking for a book that shows detailed computations of conductor tensions, correct pole construction etc. for new and existing structures.
Your help/suggestion would be much...
Good Day!
just want to ask information regarding strained overhead conductor..if the ratio of adjacent spans is 1:2,should straining of conductors (i.e ACSR & AAAC) required?what are other criteria involved in straining a conductor? Appreciate posting any reference materials for this subject...
