I have a project where I am working with low density polyethylene. The project specifies a minimum amount of allowable permanent deflection under a predefined load.
Does anyone know of a good reference to educate myself on this material? Specificially yield criteria? I'll be using a FEA...
I just completed a non-linear analysis. The following are the inputs for the material:
E=200GPa
v=0.27
Von Mises Criteria, Initial Yield 248MPa
Plasticity Modulus 500MPa
The output stress and strains do not match the bilinear stress strain curve. For example I am getting 400MPa of Von Mises...
